Collagen, the fibrous protein, is the most abundant protein in the dermis of the skin. It can comprise reticular fiber for cell adhesion, and act as a supporting mesh in tissues and organs. Collagen functions as cohesive material in connective tissues and retain water in the dermis to provide skin connective tissue moisture and maintain elasticity
In contrast to other animal collagen, fish collagen has no zoonotic diseases and fewer religious taboos, therefore, products developed using fish collagen are safe and can be applied to 90% of the world’s population.
The founder, Professor Ming-Jer Tang, the director of the International Center for Wound Repair and Regeneration (iWRR) in National Cheng Kung University, is the lead of researching and developing collagen in Taiwan. The research team has immersed in collagen and cell action for more than 2 decades.
